the multiinstrumental musician (active bass and guitar player, keyboarder, drummer), born in the region of the Bergisches Land and having his home today in the Dortmund area who appeared in numerous clubs, TV and radio programmes (WDR, WWF/SWF/ARD/...) in Germany, is presenting himself on his second CD production (debut album: "Round About Jazz" -
more infos: jazzbox.com) as singer, composer and arranger of catchy pop music.
Actually, the 17-year old Michael was not allowed to play Beat music and participate in club appearances. His father, pastor in a village in the Bergisches Land, had forbidden it. Due to the fact that he was actively supported by his mother he was able to conceal it from him for two years, until the first TV appearances started ...

After studying several musical trends and ending up with Jazz, Finthammer again and again took the opportunity to advance his instrumental abilities by participating in various Jazz courses and improving his voice in learning from competent female singers (Municipal theater Dortmund, Starlight Express). He is thus able to fully utilize his vocal range of three and a half octaves (a.o. background vocals in all registers). On his composition "Sometimes & sometime" he vocally replaces the drums. His vocopete
(I didn't now..."), enabling a stuffed jazz trumpet to be imitated by means of a special singing technique, is exceptional and already provided him with productions and a live appearance with the NDR-Bigband.

His current CD "All I love" (published at Southern German "Merkton - label") is full of fascinating self-compositions, with partially deep ("sometimes & sometime", "puzzle song") but also just loving ("I love you") themes originating from personal experience: This also applies to his country-style title "There's a time for ev'rything", portraying pubescent but also present-day "trials of patience". "Puzzle Song" is an interesting version as regards team development. On the other hand, an homage to the beat clubs of the late sixties, arranged with blues effects ("The letter") and a relaxed, dreamy mood (“Groovin'”). By changing a few words in a skilful manner the title of "Mustang Sally" has been inverted in its meaning and almost changes the song to a new composition.

This CD, representing a successful combination of self-compositions and an individual style of cover versions, deserves the ratings "able to cheer up" , "stimulating to hugging and cuddling" as well as "suitable as gift to be purchased unseen" !!
